When to Go to Odaiba & Toyosu

Good in any season thanks to its indoor attractions, but the open waterfront rewards mild, clear days.

Season by season

Spring (March–May)

Comfortable temperatures for the beach promenade and the bridge walk. teamLab Planets is very busy in the cherry-blossom and Golden Week holidays.

Summer (June–August)

Sea breezes make the bay slightly fresher than the city centre, and evenings on the waterfront are lovely. Daytime heat and humidity still call for the indoor museums.

Autumn (September–November)

Clear air brings sharper skyline views, and Odaiba’s waterfront illuminations begin. Typhoons in September can disrupt boats and occasionally the Yurikamome.

Winter (December–February)

Cold and windy by the water but brilliantly clear; Mount Fuji is sometimes visible. Winter illuminations and occasional fireworks brighten the bay.

Our advice

Start early at Toyosu, book teamLab Planets for mid-morning and reach Odaiba’s beach for sunset — that sequence follows the best light and the thinnest crowds.
